Why people replace a door here

Older doors soak up moisture, take on coat after coat of repainting, and gain weight the springs were never sized for. On stock this age the counterbalance is frequently fighting a door that is no longer the weight it left the factory.
On older stock the counterbalance is the decision that matters most: converting from extension springs to a torsion bar above the opening, where the headroom allows it.
