Classic has never been a franchise and it has never had a dispatcher. That is a deliberate choice rather than an accident of size. A dispatcher has to fill a schedule; a technician who owns the business can afford to tell you the job is not worth doing.
It also means the person who quotes is the person who fits, so nothing gets lost between the estimate and the van. Customers notice that more than they notice anything else, judging by what they write.
Thirty years in one county also means we have seen most of what this climate does to a door. Heat cycling loosens hardware faster here than almost anywhere, springs on west-facing garages fail earlier, and dust in the Coachella Valley eats rollers. None of that is in a manufacturer's manual.
What we will not do
This matters more than a values list, so here it is plainly.

Torsion springs are rated in cycles, one cycle being a single open and close. A standard 10,000-cycle spring lasts roughly seven years on average household use. They fail from metal fatigue rather than misuse, which is why failure is sudden rather than gradual.
Cold snaps and heavy use both shorten the interval. A garage used as the main entrance to the house can run three or four cycles a day, which halves the expected life against a household that uses it twice.
How do I know if my door is properly balanced?
Pull the emergency release with the door closed, then lift it by hand to waist height and let go. A balanced door stays roughly where you put it. If it slams down or shoots up, the spring tension is wrong and the opener is taking the strain.
How often should a garage door be serviced?
Once a year for an average household. A service means checking spring balance, tightening hardware, lubricating rollers, hinges and bearings, and testing the safety reverse. It is the cheapest way to avoid the calls we get most often.
Does the heat in Riverside affect my garage door?
Yes, in two ways. Repeated expansion and contraction loosens hardware faster than in milder climates, so bolts and brackets need checking. And an uninsulated steel door on a west-facing garage radiates a lot of heat into the space behind it.
Do you cover my part of Riverside County?
We cover the whole county, from Corona and Norco through the Pass and the Temecula Valley to the Coachella Valley and Blythe. The shop is on Industrial Ave in Riverside, so the closer you are to the Inland Empire the faster we can usually get to you.
Are you open on Sundays?
No. We work Monday to Saturday, 8am to 6pm, and we are closed on Sunday. We would rather tell you that plainly than advertise 24 hours and miss the window.
Do you offer same-day service?
Often, yes, if you reach us inside working hours and you are in our core Western Riverside area. Desert work is normally booked rather than same-day, because it is 60 to 90 minutes each way and we would rather give you a firm window.
Who actually turns up at my house?

How quickly can you get here?
Within working hours and inside the Inland Empire, often the same day. Our reviews describe within the hour more than once, though we will not promise that as a rule. When you book we give you a two-hour window and ring to confirm before the tech sets off.
